The artist is dedicated to using her creative abilities to heal, uplift, and inspire others. Hence, she paints angelic images which come purely from her vision, and colorful  landscapes which express the beauty and strength of nature. 
Marissa Garcia obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Western Kentucky University, and a Masters degree in Art Therapy from University of Louisville where she received the Dean's citation award for her work with clients experiencing loss.
She worked extensively with child abuse survivors and their families using expressive modalities.

As an artist of over 30 years, Marissa has exhibited in various juried art shows, and area galleries.  Her art expressions also include jewelry, small sculptures, and stained glass designs.

The artist actively participates in fundraising activities to help raise awareness for clean water for the world.
She also co-founded the Uganda Women Empowerment through Crafts which helps the disadvantaged women artisans of Uganda and their children, through
Crafts for PEACE.
