CHUCK MCLACHLAN - NEW WAYS WITH WATERCOLOR

and WHY WE PAINT

BIOGRAPHY:  Chuck has had a successful career as an advertising exectutive and now has become a popular, patient and "fun" international watercolor instructor.  Chuck has produced several teaching videos, a book of his sketches and is working on a reference book for artists.  His works are a part of many private and corporate collections. Chuck has a steady following of students who praise his nurturing and encouraging attention in their art endeavors. He believes there is always something new to learn and loves to see his students take a chance with their paintings. Check out his website at www.chuckmclachlan.com

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Chuck focuses firmly on the thinking process to painting and how we elect to portray our subjects.  Students will experiment with a change in thinking while creating new and exciting images.  Chuck will give hands-on support and individual attention as the students think new ways with watercolor.  Through his demos and critiques he will encourage participants to feel the mood, paint the essence and get excited over their paintings.

STERLING EDWARDS - PAINTINGS THAT COME ALIVE

Stylized with Emotion

BIOGRAPHY:  Sterling is a very popular watercolor instructor that teaches internationally.  He developed his unique style studying under Zoltan Szabo and other prominent artists.  He owned and operated his own art gallery and has been featured in Watercolor Magic as the "artist to watch."  His original paintings are in many private and corporate collectors worldwide.  His website is www.sterlingedwards.com

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Rather then trying to replicate the subject as it appears, Sterling often exaggerates colors, maximizes light and dark values and stylizes shapes to suit his interpretation.  This results in expressive paintings with strong interlocking positive and negative shapes and a dramatic composition and color rhythm.  Through his demos and individual guidance this class is for beginners and advanced painters alike.
